History of the Zion Healing Rooms In 1914 the famous Missionary, John G. Lake left Africa and moved to Spokane Washington with a burden to help the sick in America. He rented a floor of the Rookery Building and the rest is history. Within five years of opening there were over 100,000 confirmed healings in the healing rooms. As a result, the Federal government declared Spokane 'the healthiest city in the America. In 1920 the Healing Rooms were closed. Eighty years later, a man named Cal Pierce re-opened the Healing Rooms in Spokane. People from all over the world are coming to Spokane to experience God's healing power and tremendous miracles are being felt. For many year's saints in the city of Zion, Illinois have been praying that God would open a prayer house where Christians could come together to pray for the sick and see them recover. While Spokane has a history of healing, no city has the history of God's healing power like Zion. The founder of Zion, John Alexander Dowie is well known and regarded as the man whom God used to bring the awareness of healing back to the Church in the last century. Many healing evangelists from the early part of the 1900's came from Zion. Men such as FF Bosworth, Raymond T Richey, Gordon Lindsay and John G lake were raised or trained in Zion. Many years later God has once again opened an avenue for healing in Zion. In February, 2002, the Healing Rooms of Zion were opened for business. With over twenty churches participating, sixty trained healing room technicians, strong leadership and a wonderful location and building, we are seeing tremendous results. Several healings have already occurred, among them back pain and arthritis pains healed, woman with tumors healed and a woman who was partially deaf received her hearing. We are attempting great things for God and we are expecting to see great miracles. Our vision is to unite Christians of different denominations and races in one accord to see God's kingdom go forth! We are also a strong evangelistic tool. Where many non-Christians will never go to a church, many have come to us seeking help. Since we have opened six weeks ago, we have lead three people to the Lord and referred them to area churches. These folks are given Bibles and hooked immediately into area churches. We want to be a blessing to you and your Church. If we can ever be a help to your ministry, please don't hesitate to call. We are also looking for churches for home missions support. We do covet your prayers and we pray that God richly bless you. Return to Main Page |
